Candlewood Kids

Candlewood Kids runs during both Sunday services. We provide a nursery for ages 0 to 2, and a variety of Sunday school classes for children aged 3 to 11.

At Candlewood Church in Omaha, NE, our Kids Ministry, Candlewood Kids is a safe, caring, and fun environment for children 11 and under provided during our Sunday morning services.

Jesus called them to Him and said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16

Nursery Ages 0-2 at Candlewood Church

Infants and toddlers 2 and under are welcome in our nursery which opens 15 minutes before the start of each service. Children in the nursery will enjoy their morning playing with age appropriate toys under caring adult supervision. You may stay with your child in the nursery, or drop them off and receive a badge with a unique ID, which we will use to call you if needed during the service.

Sunday School Ages 3-11 at Candlewood Church

Candlewood Church provides several Sunday School classes during our Omaha church services for children 3–11 years old. We believe parents are responsible for teaching and raising their children in the fear and instruction of the LORD, and our role is to come alongside and encourage parents in that calling. Sunday School aims to build your child’s knowledge of Jesus Christ and encourage them to grow as disciples through the truth of God’s Word. Sunday School is an opportunity for children to connect with others, engage with God’s Word, and learn at their own level. Through Candlewood Kids, we seek to support Candlewood Church’s mission: to love God and others, build strong families, and genuinely care for the needs of our communities.

During our Sunday morning services, children will be dismissed for Sunday School after worship and announcements. You may take your children to their classroom based on their age. If you need help finding the right classroom, please speak to someone on the Connect Team.

Adventurers – ages 3-4, located in the small classroom. Kids will adventure through the Bible to gain knowledge and truth. Class time will include a Bible story, activity, and playtime.
Discoverers – ages 5-6, located in the Northwest corner of the Candlewood Education Room. Kids will grow deeper in their discovery of God’s love for them. Class time will include whole group teaching, discussion, memory verses, and a craft.
Explorers – ages 7- 11, located in the Candlewood Education Room. Kids will explore what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Class time will include whole group teaching, sharing memory verses, discussion, and game time.

Memory Madness

The mission of the Candlewood Kids ministry is to help equip parents in their pursuit of pointing their children towards Jesus. One way we would like to do that by helping parents put God’s word in their child’s heart! We have a Memory Madness program to encourage kids (and families!) to memorize God’s word together!
