6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Step through the mist into Rainforest Falls, overflowing with wild waterfalls, towering trees, and colorful creatures. Beneath a canopy of chattering birds and howling monkeys, kids plunge into a lifelong adventure of discovering the nature of God. They’ll explore what it means to be rooted in relationship with God, their creator, a safe place in life’s storms.
The more volunteers we have, the more kids in our church and in our community we can serve!
What Positions Are You Interested In?
- Actor: This talented individual brings skits to life during the opening and closing parts of VBS each night. This person should be comfortable with acting both serious and silly in front of large groups of people and memorizing a short script. Register here.
- Bible Adventure Leader: These organized storytellers bring the Bible to life for groups of elementary age kids through interactive and engaging experiences, then helps kids apply the word of God to their own lives. These people should be comfortable being silly and acting in front of small groups of kids. Register here.
- Check in Station: These organized and friendly people would be in charge of checking the children in every night. These people should be willing to talk to parents and welcome them to the church if they are new. Register here.
- Crew Leader: The crew leader will lead a small group of elementary age kids with another co-crew leader. There’s no preparation required. A good crew leader is a friend and helper for the kids and station leaders. They ask questions, take kids seriously and encourage them throughout VBS. Register here.
- Games Leader: These energetic and organized individuals are in charge of leading groups of elementary age kids in fun physical activities and discussions. You don’t need to be an Olympian, you just need to be organized, energetic, and fun loving. Register here.
- Games Leader Asst.: The assistant game leader aids the games leader in preparing and leading fun activities. Register here.
- MC: This person opens and closes VBS each night on stage. They are involved in the skits with the actor, explaining concepts to the kids, and playing fun games/leading experiments to illustrate the VBS themes. This person should be comfortable being on stage in front of large groups and leading discussions in this setting. Register here.
- Nursery Volunteer: For families volunteering during the VBS program, the nursery will be staffed to watch their younger children. These volunteers are essential to the program as some volunteers may not be able to participate without this service. Activities and snacks will be provided. Register here.
- Production (sound/slides): This person should be already trained and comfortable running the sound and slides in the church building, particularly in the education room and fellowship hall. Register here.
- Security: These individuals should already be part of the Candlewood security team and would be willing to provide security during the nights of VBS. Register here.
- Snack Team: As a member of the snack team you will help organize and prep snacks for the week of VBS. They can be prepared and dropped off in advance of VBS and all supplies will be reimbursed by the church. Register here.
- Song Leader: These energetic and talented individuals lead the kids through the songs and associated hand motions at the beginning and end of each night as well as for the Sunday performance. They would be accompanying the VBS program’s video that has the lyrics and moves on it already. Leaders do not need to play instruments. Register here.
- Sticky Scripture Leader: The Sticky Scripture station leaders guide kids through reading their own copies of the Bible (provided by the church). They also lead crews in discussions about how they can apply the Scripture to their own lives. These leaders should be comfortable leading Bible discussions for groups of kids. Register here.
