For over 20 years, Candlewood church, a non-denominational, Bible-based, Christian church, has been fulfilling its mission of loving God and others, building strong families, helping people realize their potential, caring for our community, and communicating the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After starting with just a couple of families that moved to Omaha with a dream of changing the world, Candlewood is now made up of over 400 people, and also has services in Lincoln, since sending a team to replant a sister church there a few years ago.
Candlewood has vibrant ministries on the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) campuses. We’ve counted at least 373 salvations and 463 baptisms. With God’s help, we have made a tremendous impact in our communities and around the world by dedicating time to evangelism, community service, and missions.
We believe God wants to do more.
Our goal has always been to reach the entire world with the Gospel, and we intend to continue working towards that goal by reaching one person at a time. When one person is reached, and comes to understand and believe in the love and power of Jesus Christ, their entire lives are completely changed. We then equip that person to reach and equip others, who will reach and equip others. Following this pattern, we believe that God will help us to meet our goal!
We are also trusting that God will use Building Together to help us get closer to meeting our goal. Building Together is an initiative that God used to help Candlewood purchase permanent facilities in both Omaha and Lincoln. We believe this will help us to strengthen and expand our ministries and impact, which will enable more church plants in the Omaha, Lincoln, and surrounding areas, as well as across the globe.
Candlewood’s vision is to change the whole world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, one person at a time.
