At Candlewood Church, we know that there are times when we can experience stress, worry, and anxiety. These emotions can plague our lives. Sometimes, they can be so overwhelming, we feel as if the entire world is against us. It can be easy to become stressed, no matter how big or little an issue may be; however, getting rid of the stress is not so easy.
Are you be stressed about
- overwhelming demands at work?
- the loss of your job?
- health issues?
- trouble with kids?
- tension with spouse?
- lack of time with God?
- loss of a loved one?
Financial difficulties can impact every aspect of our lives. Health crises can wear on us physically and emotionally when we are not able to help our loved ones. All these circumstances, and so much more that are beyond our control, can create unwanted chaos and can easily take a toll on you physically, spiritually, and mentally.
The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.
Exodus 14:14 NLT
God loves you, and He has the strength to carry your burdens. Don’t panic, don’t despair, just stay calm.
Do Not Be Shaken
Did you know that agitation and panic will do nothing but cause more worry when facing stressful situations? When the darkness seems to close in, allow God to comfort and assist you. He will not desert you in your time of need.
Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
Psalm 62:1-2 NIV
Remember to ask God to give you rest, and thank God for being your strong fortress in all circumstances.
The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
Turn to God
Going to God during times of crisis can make all the difference. Pray out to God and say, “God, I can’t fix this. This is out of my control. I need your help!” When you turn your suffering over to God, He can provide you with the strength that’s needed to press on.
Have you gone through or are going through a difficult circumstance causing anxiety? Remember, Jesus Christ knows more than we do about pain and suffering. When you are stressed, ask God to help you trust Him through hard times and for Him to show you His glory through them even if it seems impossible.
