Candlewood Church Staff Ministry focuses on raising more individuals with a heart for discipleship and outreach, specifically with the purpose to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout Omaha. Sophie is a staff member at Candlewood Church Omaha as a Campus Director for the Rock Minsitry. Check out her monthly update below.

 

Exciting News – I’m a Bahnfleth! 😀

 

Micah and I got married! March 2nd was an unforgettable day. Many family members and friends traveled to Omaha to celebrate with us. One of our pastors, Steve Kane, officiated our wedding and shared the good news of the gospel with our guests. Additionally, Micah and I typed up our personal faith stories and included them with our wedding programs. Through this our guests could read a little about how God has moved specifically in each of our lives. We are so excited to see what God has in store for our future together as Mr. and Mrs. Bahnfleth. 

 

The Rock Ministry – Praise Report

 

Spring Break Mission Trip

 

Every Spring Break, The Rock provides a Mission Trip opportunity for its students. This year, The Rock traveled to Colombia, Missouri to serve one of our sister-churches near The University of Missouri. This church is actively trying to start a college ministry on its campus, and they were so appreciative of the help! Our Rockers got to meet other students and share the gospel on campus, lead a youth group meeting, participate in a service project to set up a foster home for Coyote Hill, and much more.

 

While on campus, two of our Rock students met a Mizzou student – we will refer to her as Shelby. After talking to her about her faith background and having a gospel conversation, they invited Shelby to a church event that night. Although she had extreme social anxiety, she decided to come to the event! About 2 weeks later, our team got a text from the church in Missouri. It read: “Last night a girl who your team met on campus named Shelby came to group and she was very interested in learning about the gospel. We were able to walk her all the way through the gospel and she was very receptive… She is very interested in continuing to come to group!” It’s so cool to witness God using us and our students to bring people closer to Him.

Decisions for Christ & Baptisms

 

Two of our Rock students decided to give their lives to Christ and get baptized this semester – God is doing big things! Please be praying for Mackenzie and Wei as they embark on their new journey of following Jesus.

 

Shuttle Outreach – Spring Edition!

 

Remember our coffee and cocoa outreach at the shuttle stop? Well, we are at it again! However, the warm weather called for a new snack: donuts and orange juice! We met countless students and were able to hand out many gospel tracts and invitations to our Wednesday night service. Students recognized our group from the last shuttle outreach, which was encouraging as we seek to grow our presence on campus.

 

New Rock Media Team

 

Needless to say, Social Media is HUGE in this generation. Seeking to expand our reach with the message of the gospel, we created a Rock Media Team to grow our online presence. This team consists of 3 Rock students who keep our social media pages up to date. Check out our Facebook and Instagram pages, and be sure to like and follow!

 

 

Prayer Requests

 

Prayer is so important to us and our ministry! We would appreciate prayer for the following:

• Encouragement, wisdom and guidance for our growing staff team (especially our new interns)
• Students maturing in their faith and cultivating a deeper relationship with Jesus
• Growth in our students’ passion for reaching others with the gospel
• Genuine friendships and unity within The Rock
• Summer Leadership Training planning would go smoothly, and students would be excited & able to participate
• Faithful students who are willing and ready to lead our Small Groups
• God would continue to provide monthly prayer and financial ministry partners to allow Matt, Jim and I to be on campus reaching students with the gospel
