Imitating the Missionary Heart of God: The Great Commandment and the Great Commission
At Candlewood Church in Omaha, NE, we exist to be difference makers. We believe, live out, and share the Gospel. You are invited to work alongside the Creator of the Universe and the Savior of all humans.
A mission trip is an opportunity to take a step with our loving Lord Jesus who is at work to bring all people to himself. When you recognize that you are taking a step to get involved with what God is doing, exciting things will happen.
Jesus said the two greatest commandments sum up all the commandments. They are, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart…” and “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:30-31). We need God’s power to grasp the depth and breadth of His love for us. We can see it by God the Father sending His one and only Son to save us. We can see His love for us in that Jesus willingly came to earth – to the humiliation and torture of the cross – because the love He has for His Father in heaven and His love for you, me, and everyone.
STM Trip in Guapiles, Costa Rica
Candlewood Church in Omaha, NE has partnered with Pastor Oscar and his church of like-minded believers in Guapiles, Costa Rica. As a team, we will be doing various projects such as:
- neighborhood outreach
- evening children’s outreach
- painting the church
Short Term Mission (STM) Trip
Guapiles, Costa Rica
July 4-11, 2026
Candlewood Church Team Leads
For this trip, Matt C and Shea S will be the team leads. They
- have served the church in Guapiles and love their brothers and sisters there
- look forward to partnering with them in the Gospel and enjoying great fellowship
- are eager to help others have this great experience
Costs
- Airfare: approximately $750 (prices may vary. Individuals are responsible for any increase in airfare.)
- In-Country Costs: $675 (transportation, food, housing, supplies)
- Miscellaneous: $30
- Travel Insurance $30
- Love Gift: $25
- Total = $1,510/person
Deadlines: (Airfares will be purchased in mid to late May. NOTE: You will be responsible to pay for any additional airfare cost that is above $750)
There is a $25 application fee. Please pay here after submitting your application. The application fee is non-refundable but will go towards your total STM total cost. Once accepted, you will be assigned a giving link that all future payments should be directed through.

You or your mission trip supporters can give online or by check to your personal link assigned by Candlewood Church once your application has been accepted.
Checks need to be made payable to Candlewood Church with your name and STM designation in the memo.
