Open Door Mission – Volunteer From Home Opportunities
Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Each day, the campus offers 917 safe, shelter beds to people experiencing homelessness, serves over 4,747 nutritious meals to feed the hungry, and provides homeless preventive resources to more than 1,000 people living in poverty to empower them to remain in their own homes
Candlewood Church in Omaha, NE regularly supports Open Door Mission through prayer, service, and financial contributions because of the parallel vision and mission to see lives changed with the love and generosity of Jesus Christ.
Due to COVID-19, many people are finding themselves in very difficult financial situations, which has resulted in an increased need for many items to serve the needy during this time.

Why Volunteer for Open Door Mission?
There are many great opportunities to generously bless those in need during the coronavirus pandemic. We know that God is on the throne and in control during this uncertain time, and our prayer is that we would be people who put love into action and bring Hope to the needy and vulnerable. As we are reminded in Matthew 25:40, “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
