Thanksgiving [noun] | a prayer that expresses thanks to God; the expression of gratitude, especially to God; the act of giving thanks.

This Thanksgiving, as millions prepare to celebrate the holiday, traveling to spend time with family and to share the traditional meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, etc., the most vital part of the day (just like any other day) is to give thanks.

Here’s what some members of the Candlewood Church family are thankful for this Thanksgiving:

Dani Archuleta
I’m thankful for the family of believers at Candlewood, and how they challenge me, love me, and help mold and shape me.

Alex & Catie Bacon
We are most thankful for the family God carefully chose for us. We are thankful for the means to have a home and all of the blessings that come along with it. We are thankful for friends to share this life with, and we are thankful for the recent salvation of our friend, Kelly!

Kirsten Confer
Women in my life who love me and want to build me up and encourage me.

Logan Cullison
I’m thankful that God looks out for me and provides for me in every circumstance He has put me in.

Zachery Deleski-Taylor
I am thankful for God’s grace in my life. God has been there through every tough time and bad decision I have ever made. He has always protected me from myself and has showered me with unending grace. There is no limit to how much He cares and loves me. I am thankful that our God is a God that doesn’t give up when I make mistakes.

Beth Fortmeyer
That God walks through every season of life with us, and for time with family this holiday season.

Katya Huggins
I am so thankful for all the help and love Candlewood has shown my nephew, Bryson. They rejoice with me and my family at how much he is learning and how fast he is progressing. They are patient and kind when all he wants is to say ‘Hi’ so he can take your hat, sit, and touch your shoes or pet your beard. For a couple hours every Sunday, Candlewood shows Bryson how much he is loved and cared for as only a family can, and it is wonderful to see.

Matt Jacobson
I’m thankful for quality time with my family. Thankful that we make it a priority to spend time together on a regular basis. That all my siblings and my Mom know Jesus, and that we often are talking about the cool stuff God is doing in our lives.

Kevin Jacobson
The church; I appreciate the friendships that I have in the church. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t have these people around me.

Jennifer Krontz
I’m thankful for how the men and women the Lord has placed in my life continuously strive after Him, regardless of the circumstances they are in.

Cole & Julie Sargent
Our health and God’s provision!

Weston & Lindsey Spaustat
We are thankful for our sweet baby Allison.

John Tessalee
Ever since August 2nd, when I first became a father, I realized that the word “Father” is tied to the identity of the child. Without a child, there is no father. It’s a simple concept, but now part of my identity is found in my son. I am so thankful that my Everlasting Father consciously chose to bind part of His identity to me by making me his son. Oh, and my kid is pretty great too.

Naomi Whitney
I’m thankful that God is showing me how to make Him my number one refuge/comfort.

Justine Yeo
Friends who become like family.
