Engage! – Parent-Involved Education Seminar

Ephesians 6:4 says we must “bring our children up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”  As parents, our most important disciples are our children. They are whom we will have the greatest opportunity to influence. An important component of this is what we decide to do with our children’s education and how we actively engage.

Everyone you talk to has an opinion on this topic, and the options can be bewildering. Who can we trust to shape our children’s hearts and minds? What educational choice is best? How can we engage in this process without going crazy? If I choose to homeschool, what does that look like, and how do I do it? If my children go to public school, how do I continue to disciple and lead them?

Candlewood Church wants to support our parents, and we invite you to attend our Engage! Parent-Involved Education seminar on September 10.

In this seminar, we will emphasize the essential role parents play in training and educating their children, and how they can be actively engaged in their education and training. We will discuss the educational options available, focusing on pros and cons, and why you might consider homeschooling. We’ll talk about how to teach your children and make educating your children work for you. Educators and moms, who are actively engaged in teaching, will share highly practical advice and tools regarding how to organize your day, work with kids of differing ages, and overcome obstacles. Dads will also be encouraged in how to lead their family through this process. This seminar will be eminently practical and provide you with tools to use as you work through these essential decisions and put them into action.

Parents (current and future ones), we invite you to join us on Saturday, September 10 from 9AM until 2PM at Jordan’s Place. Lunch will be provided. If you are planning to attend, please let Trevor Van Schooneveld know by emailing him at trevorvan@cox.net.
