The Open Door Mission is a Gospel Rescue Mission that meets the needs of individuals and families while inspiring hope for lasting change. Candlewood Church in Omaha, NE regularly supports the Open Door Mission through prayer, service, and financial contributions because of the parallel vision and mission to see lives changed with the love and generosity of Jesus Christ.
Pipe Burst Damages 400 Pallets of Donated Goods
Late February 2025, a frozen pipe burst and damaged nearly 400 pallets of donated goods at the Open Door Mission. The loss of essential goods is heartbreaking! Goods included donated hygiene products – toilet paper and diapers. Unfortunately, costs for the lost items are not covered by insurance.
The Open Door Mission is reaching out to us at Candlewood Church and asking for our support!
Diaper Drive March 16-23, 2025
One way we can support the Open Door Mission during this time is to help restock their diaper supplies.
Please bring diaper donations to church and drop them off in the foyer from March 16-23, 2025.
A Friendly Small Group Competition
In addition, we will have a friendly competition to see which small group donates the most diaper boxes. As people bring diaper donations, they will be able to sign a sheet that states quantity and which small group they attend for the contest results. This is a great way for us to come together for a common purpose that will benefit the city mission in a big way.
