A Note From the Pastor
Reading from God’s Word is such a mystery. Some mornings (due to my lack of concentration) it can seem like I’m just reading. Some mornings (due to my attitude) it can seem as if there is a flood of thoughts from what I just read. This morning it was the latter so I will go ahead and pick just one.
Daniel 3:17-18 “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if He doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego – three young men that were put in a very challenging predicament. The predicament was cowardice or courage. I’m so encouraged that they chose the road less traveled. Many of us are put in these same predicaments with family, at work, in school, etc. etc. May God grant us the strength to imitate these three young men and willingly choose to step into whatever fire God has in front of us. May we exercise this faith that truly pleases God.
May all who are reading this have a thankful, happy Thanksgiving.
