Candlewood Kids Parent Guide 2024

The heart of Candlewood Church is that parents would be the main source of Biblical instruction in the life of their children. It is the desire of the Sunday School team to come alongside parents to support them and to spur them on in a parent’s pursuit to point their children towards the love of Christ.

MEMORIZE

One way we would encourage parents to accomplish this is by encouraging memorization of the Bible- to help put God’s word in the child’s heart. Psalm 119: 11 says: “ I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

Each week the kindergarten/first grade class will learn a story about a person from the Old Testament and will discuss a New Testament verse that illustrates the life of that person and ultimately points them towards Christ.  It is our desire to inform parents of what we are discussing in Sunday school, in the hopes that parents can talk about it throughout the week.
