Stellar VBS Volunteers Needed
At Candlewood Church in Omaha, NE we are excited to announce that Stellar Vacation Bible School (VBS) is coming this June.
Sunday, June 25 - Thursday, June 29
6 PM - 8 PM
In order to serve the children of Candlewood Church and our community, we need a team of difference makers.
Help our VBS take flight and volunteer this year at Stellar VBS!
Why Do Vacation Bible School (VBS)?
What we need from our volunteers once you are assigned a role:
- A heart for God, a desire to serve, and an enthusiastic attitude
- One pre-VBS staff training day (date TBA)
- Background check (arranged by Candlewood Church)
- Commitment to attend every night of VBS
- If you’re a station leader or crew leader this is essential
- For other positions, can try to arrange someone to team up with if needed
- We’ll have the nursery staffed for volunteers’ children 0-3 years old

If you can’t volunteer for the entire week, please note which nights you’re available in the availability section. Please pray for this time, and share the word that we need volunteers!
Stellar VBS Position Descriptions
Actors and Actresses: These talented individuals bring skits and Bible stories to life. Actors and actresses should be comfortable with acting both serious and silly in front of large groups of people. Register Now.
Assistant Crew Leader: The assistant crew leader serves as a secondary crew leader. They help manage supplies, get the crew from station to station and help with experiences for their crew. A good assistant crew leader is attentive and always looking for ways to help without being asked. This job is open to those entering 7th grade- seniors in high school. Register Now.
Bible Adventure Leader: These organized storytellers bring the Bible to life for groups of elementary age kids through interactive and engaging experiences, then helps kids apply the word of God to their own lives. They should be comfortable acting and being silly in front of groups of kids. Register Now.
Check in Station Volunteer: These organized and friendly people would be in charge of checking the children in every night. Register Now.
Crew Leader: The crew leader will lead a small group of elementary age kids. A good crew leader is a friend and helper for the kids and station leaders. They ask questions, take kids seriously and encourage them throughout VBS. This job is open to anyone who has completed high school. Register Now.
Games Leader: The energetic and organized individual is in charge of leading groups of elementary age kids in fun physical activities and discussions. You don't need to be an Olympian, you just need to be organized, energetic, and fun loving. Register Now.
Imagination Station Leader: The Imagination Station leader encourages creativity and brings the Bible point to life through interactive and impactful illustrations for groups of elementary age kids. Organization, imagination, and creativity are a must for this fun loving leader. Register Now.
Nursery Volunteer: For families with both parents volunteering during the VBS program, the nursery will be staffed to watch their younger children. These volunteers are essential to the program as some volunteers may not be able to participate without this service. Register Now.
Snacks Team: This organized team is in charge of preparing snacks and bringing them to church the week of VBS. Register Now.
Song Leaders: These energetic and talented individuals would lead the kids through the songs and associated hand motions at the beginning and end of each night as well as for the Sunday performance. They would be accompanying the VBS program's video that has the lyrics and moves on it already. Leaders do not need to play instruments. Register Now.
Sound / Slides: These individuals would be in charge of running the slides and sound during the opening and closing portion of VBS each night. Register Now.
Supplies Coordinator: This organized person would be in charge of gathering and organizing supplies for the VBS stations. Register Now.
