A Note From a Candlewood Church Omaha Pastor – What a Joy!
Psalm 32:1-2 “Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!”
As I think about my relationship with God, I’m amazed that God loves me. I know my failure, my sin, my pride, my arrogance. The list goes on and on. Yet in the midst of this dilemma, God’s mercy, grace and forgiveness is richly poured out upon me. Why? Because of Jesus’s sacrifice.
The Psalmist also says in Psalm 103:12 “He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.”
East and west can never meet; this is a picture of God’s forgiveness. When He forgives our sin, He separates it from us and doesn’t even remember it. No wonder the Psalmist said, “what joy.” Thank God, thank Jesus, thank the Holy Spirit that because of love, you too can experience this joy through Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.
