November 2025 marked thirty years of Candlewood’s beginning. Throughout all of these years, we have seen the faithfulness of God.
Celebrating 30 years at Candlewood Church
We pray that God will richly bless the next thirty years of ministry here at 5051 F Street as we strive “to be a difference maker in our city.” We will celebrate this milestone on May 17, 2026 at our Annual Springtime at Candlewood. So many events, so many prayers, so many Gospel presentations, acts of kindness and generosity, baptisms and baby dedications. Thank You, Lord, that You are keeping track of every cup of cold water that has been given in Your name.
2025 Highlights at Candlewood Church
- March – we hosted our bi-annual parenting conference with Steve and Kathleen Nelson from El Paso, Texas, encouraging our families to stay the course in the raising of their children.
- May – we celebrated our annual Springtime at Candlewood serving lunch to our church and guests. Our overseas mission ministry began with a team traveling to San Jose, Costa Rica.
- June – VBS pointed over 100 kids toward Jesus.
- July – the University of Wyoming was the host for our annual M-28 D.T.C. (Discipleship Training Conference) for our youth group and parents.
- August – a second team traveled to Guapiles, Costa Rica after an eleven-year absence. It was a time to restore old relationships.
- September – UNO classes startup and our Acts 2 college ministry organizing and planning their annual students and Young Professionals fall conference being held at Camp Maranatha.
- October – Trunk or Treat was a huge hit as over 1200 visitors visited our campus.
This year marks the end of a three-and-a-half-year journey of discovering God’s next team of leaders that will lead our church into the future. We are excited and filled with faith as we celebrated this journey on January 4, 2026 with the recognition of two additional elders and nine deacons.
Please pray that this team will seek the Lord in all of our decisions and that He will protect our unity and that we would walk in humility with one another.
