At Candlewood Church, we are very excited about what God holds for our future. As we begin the three year campaign, Building Together 2.0, questions will arise. Below are the most frequently asked questions about Building Together 2.0.
What was the Process?
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’”
The process has been a growing challenge since the day we moved in. The challenge has been an ever-growing church family with limited space within our building. With the help of an outside church consulting firm, we began to look at our strengths and our weaknesses. This was a good experience for us as a group of leaders. We came to the realization that for us to be successful with a future church plant, we needed to expand our facility so that more disciples could be raised up. With input from our now-hired architect firm and with all possibilities up in the air, we have created a final plan that we believe will increase one’s experience at Candlewood if it’s your first time attending or your hundredth.
What is the Project?
“Plans succeed through good counsel; don’t go to war without wise advice.”
The project will consist of two parts-the remodel of 5260 sq. feet of existing building and the addition of 2400 sq. feet of a new education wing. We will be creating a new entry into the building, expansion and relocation of our welcome area, the addition of seven classrooms, one bathroom and one storage room and remodeling our foyer into an office and conference room.
Why This Project and Why Now?
“Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.”
As was previously stated, we have been blessed with an ever-growing church family and for us to be able to successfully plant a new church we need the space to adequately train up a future team with the resources that will be necessary. We also believe our future is seen in the next generation that we can serve. This world is becoming more and more hostile to Christianity and its message. We want to provide our church and our community with alternatives when it comes to the education of our children and we believe this facility will help provide that resource.
How Much Does it Cost?
“Now, my son, may the Lord be with you and give you success as you follow his directions in building the Temple of the Lord your God.”
I Chronicles 22:11
The projected cost for this project is 1.1 million. The firm we have hired has years of experience with construction management and consultation. With escalated material costs and with some hands-on work from the church members, we believe this goal can be accomplished.
What’s the Timeline?
“May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the Lord answer all your prayers.”
With contracts being signed, engineers being employed, construction bids being made public, the very attainable goal will be this completed project being targeted for October 1, 2022, a year from now.
How Will We Pay for It?
“Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.”
II Corinthians 8:12
It will be paid for through the generosity of our church family. By all contributing according to that which God impresses upon His people.
