In Spring 2025 the wives of Candlewood Church small group and aspire leaders had the opportunity to attend a Biblical Womanhood Retreat put on by Kathleen Nelson and Mary Young. Kathleen and Mary are part of the M28 Alliance – a community of churches helping churches disciple the nations, as well as hosts of the Living Out Biblical Womanhood podcast.
Conference Overview
The main idea of the retreat was how to be a Biblical Woman and to embrace who God made us women to be. There were four main focus points that were taken from scripture of how God calls us to be Biblical women by
How to be a Biblical Woman
First in order to be Biblical women, we need to understand that we are the holy women of this generation. We need to be women of the Word.
Right now, there is a battle for truth about womanhood. As holy women we should not be defined by our success, clothing, outer appearance – the things culture is screaming at us that are important.
We are called to embrace God’s design. We need to live in the fullness of who we are designed to be. Our identity matters. Our identity is in Christ. God did not make a mistake when he made us women. Womanhood is not a mistake.
As holy women we are not just living for ourselves. We should preserve and pass along how to be a holy woman. One of our roles is to teach and train. What we do matters even if we don’t see results right away.

One way we are encouraging women’s growth in these areas is by focusing on how to be a Biblical woman and passing it along to the next generation.
