A Note From the Pastor – All His Wonderful Deeds
“O Lord my God, You have performed many wonders for us.
Your plans for us are too numerous to list.
You have no equal.
If I tried to recite all Your wonderful deeds,
I would never come to the end of them.”
It is very easy for me to see the cup half empty, be critical in my speech, be judgmental in my attitude, the list goes on. Jesus told His disciples today in Mark 7:21-22 “For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.”
These words Jesus described as being vile and this wickedness lies deep within us all. How do we fix this dilemma? We do what the Psalmist said. Remember, meditate, list all His wonderful deeds. Do it daily, weekly, yearly for the rest of your life. The battle in our mind is the result of what we are thinking. Sing songs of praise, pray with a thankful heart, look at God’s creation, write down what you’re thankful for and, I believe, we too will say what the Psalmist says: “If I tried to recite all Your wonderful deeds, I would never come to the end of them.”
